SP3 + Fried Mic = Not happy Victor

So my mic got fried by static electricity and SP3 for windows is here. Another headset is gonna cost me $13 bucks, although I really wanna get this instead. I’m shutting everything down right now so I can install SP3 on my laptop. Help!

Hrm…

I’ve been neglecting this blog for a while now. I know youtube videos count as posts, but really, they dont.

But I’ve been keeping busy. I was in California for almost all of March, I’m an official student of CSUN, and now I’m starting a podcast. It’s called “Anime Exodus” and It’s probably gonna be two or three times a week. I’m hoping I can get Viga and maybe Rym on the inaugural episode.

Yes… Again.
I can’t help it. I went to the apple store and plugged in my creative mp3 player, and it recognized it and put it under the devices tab. I couldn’t help myself.

What is a WebOS? by ZDNet’s Richard MacManus — “A webOS is less about being a ‘real OS’ and more of a human interface for the types of apps that require that quality.”I’ll move onto a new topic in the next post, but before I do I wanted to clear up some confusion about what exactly *is* a WebOS. In a way the term [...]

Kuroneko.bat

my dad wanted me to delete all the files in a very large folder higharchy. Well, that would take a very long time to do manually, so i wrote a little batch file to do the work for me. it took all of 5 seconds to finish the job of deleting more than 50,000 files. Before you use it, however, i need to warn that it deletes read-only files and all files in the sub-directories too without prompting per file, so user beware.

I’m gonna go see what would happen if i ran it in the root of a Windows 98 virtual machine….

The End.

Tonight is the last night I use my computer. I’m not saying this to be dramatic, but because its true. The computer that i built, my computer, has been sold, and tonight will be its final startup before i shut it down for good tomorrow morning, After which it will no longer be my machine. It all started 3 years ago when i had to put to rest another computer of mine, a P2 233mhz with 128mb of ram. It served me well, but it was time to move on to a better computer. I went to every yardsale and thrift shop i could to get together the parts for my new machine, and i managed to build it under 50 dollars, 25 of it was getting the processor on eBay.

It was the first computer that i had ever built, and i was so nervous when i pushed the power button for the first time. I cringed. I was so sure that sparks would start flying and the whole setup would be blown to kingdom come.

Heh, I cant tell you how relieved i was when the bios started checking the memory. for the first time in a while, i was proud of myself, because I finally did something good with my skills.

Years went by and I upgraded and made the system more efficent, but somehow it just seemed to get slower and slower. But it wasnt the computer that was slowing down; I was speeding up. My needs in a computer were growing faster than the machine itself, until it finally got to the point where my computer was acting more as a fileserver for me as i accessed it from other computers on the network.

The Cd Burner, the wireless card, the video capture card, and all extra drives, fans and cables have been removed. Tommrrow, i’ll take out my 80 gb hard drive and drop in a 4gb one. Thats will be the last step.

Like a good parent, I’ll say my final farewells, pat it on the case, and send it on its way. I wont cry, and i wont chase my parents car as the go to drop it off. I’ll miss the sound of its fans during the night, but I’ll stay strong, because now my computer will be someone elses, and will hopefully give them another 3 years of faithful service. Ten years from now, when someone asks me what my computer is, I’ll say “My computer is a pentium 3, 733 mhz with 128 mb of ram.”
